**Second Arrest Made in Double Shooting Near UofL That Left One Dead**

Louisville Metro Police have confirmed a second arrest in connection with the **deadly double shooting near the University of Louisville** that left one person dead and another injured. The shooting, which occurred late last week near South Brook Street and University Boulevard, shocked the local community and prompted a swift and ongoing investigation.

According to LMPD officials, **19-year-old Malik Henderson** was taken into custody Tuesday evening and charged with **murder**, **assault**, and **tampering with physical evidence**. He is the second suspect to be arrested in the case. Earlier this week, **18-year-old Jalen Brooks** was apprehended and charged with similar offenses.

The shooting happened around **11:45 p.m. Friday night**, when police responded to reports of gunfire near a residential area frequently populated by UofL students. Upon arrival, officers found two male victims—one pronounced dead at the scene and the other transported to UofL Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The deceased victim has since been identified as **20-year-old Jordan Ellis**, a former high school athlete and aspiring student.

Investigators believe the incident stemmed from a dispute between multiple individuals, and authorities say more arrests could follow as they continue reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses.

“Our detectives have worked tirelessly on this case, and we are committed to ensuring justice for the victim and his family,” said LMPD spokesperson Sgt. Alicia Smiley. “We ask anyone with additional information to come forward.”

The University of Louisville issued a statement expressing condolences to the families affected and reaffirming its commitment to student safety.

Both suspects remain in custody at Metro Corrections and are expected to be arraigned later this week.

The investigation remains active, and LMPD is urging the public to contact their anonymous tip line at **574-LMPD** with any information.
