Netflix has officially announced the release of a brand-new music documentary centered on Bon Jovi, one of the most iconic American rock bands of all time. Titled *Blood on the Strings*, the multi-part documentary promises to deliver an unfiltered, in-depth look at the group’s decades-long journey — from their gritty beginnings in Sayreville, New Jersey, to their meteoric rise as global superstars who helped define the sound of modern rock.
Produced by Netflix in collaboration with Mercury Studios, *Blood on the Strings* will explore the personal and professional evolution of Jon Bon Jovi and his bandmates, tracing their transformation from local dreamers into international legends. The series delves into never-before-seen footage, candid interviews, and behind-the-scenes moments that reveal the heart, conflict, and camaraderie behind hits like “Livin’ on a Prayer,” “Wanted Dead or Alive,” and “It’s My Life.”
According to Netflix, the documentary doesn’t shy away from the band’s struggles — from creative tensions and personal sacrifices to the challenges of staying relevant through changing musical eras. It also highlights their philanthropic efforts and the emotional toll of fame, capturing Bon Jovi’s relentless pursuit of authenticity and resilience across four decades.
Jon Bon Jovi, now in his 60s, described the project as “a reflection of the band’s blood, sweat, and soul — the true cost of chasing the dream and keeping it alive.”
*Blood on the Strings* will offer fans an emotional, sonically rich portrait of one of rock’s most enduring acts. The series is set to debut globally on Netflix in early 2026, giving both long-time fans and new generations a raw, immersive experience into the legacy of Bon Jovi.
