e Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have bolstered their forward pack by signing promising young forward Zyon Maiu’u from the New Zealand Warriors on a two-year deal, effective immediately. Ca))

Maiu’u, 21, made his NRL debut for thWarriors on ANZAC Dayn 2024, coming off the bench and impressing with 77 meters from seven runs in a 13-minute stint. (Canterbury-Bantown Bulldogs) Despite his limited first-grade experience, he is regarded as one of the more exciting young forwards in the game.

The decision to join the Buls was not taken lightly by Maiu’u. In an interview with RNZ Pacific, he stated, “It was a really hard decision… What mattered to me most was the support from my family, especially my parents.” He also expressed gratitudeo the Warriors, acoedging them as his foundational club. The Waiors, while disappoied to lose a homegrown talent, respected Maiu’u’s desire for more first-grade opportunities. Andrew McFadden, the Warriors’ general manager for recruitment, pathways, and development, commented, “We were keen for Zyon to stay but he’s looking for more opportunities… We wish him the very best for what lies ahead.” (news)
