Jaime Ffrench, a highly-regarded wide receiver in 2025, revealed on Sunday night that he had decommitted from Alabama.
Ffrench, a four-star recruit who was ranked No. 29 overall in the 2025 class by 247 Sports, had committed to Alabama in July of last
year. With a five-star rating, he is ranked No. 11 nationwide in the industry aggregate by 247 Sports.
Joe Cox, the tight ends coach at Alabama and French’s main recruiter, is not anticipated to stay with Kalen DeBoer’s current coaching
staff. It is anticipated that Nick Sheridan, a tight ends coach from Washington, would succeed DeBoer.
Ffrench revealed to Zac Blostein of Noles247 that Cox had notified him last week about Nick Saban’s retirement. Ffrench has a call
scheduled on Monday with the new staff and still intends to visit Tuscaloosa.
“What I just took from the staff that’s still there at ‘Bama who didn’t leave, they told me nobody is not going to want Jaime Ffrench
when they walk through the door,” he stated. “So just give it some time and watch what happens. Then, If I’m not feeling their vibe. I’ll
respond to that at that point.”
The Mandarin standout from Jacksonville, Florida, stated that Florida State posed the greatest danger to his leaving Alabama.
“Definitely Florida State, they’re number one right now,” stated Ffrench. Even Michigan, Georgia, Miami, and South Carolina state
Ohio State. Many colleges haven’t even contacted me. even Texas A&M, where Head Coach Hornon Wiggins has a presence. Just a
large number of nearby schools; nothing particularly North or West Coast-related. Only regional
Alabama, ranked No. 6 in 247 Sports’ team rankings, still has six recruits committed to their 2025 class.
