Today is the early signing day. The confusion surrounding transfer portals has affected college football recruiting,
but focus has shifted to the upcoming class of high school students. Alabama football found itself in a comfortable
spot in Tuscaloosa.
The early signing window is open from Friday, December 22, through December 20. Instead of waiting until the
February window, the majority of players are anticipated to formally sign their national letter of intent (LOI) in the
upcoming days.
Another top-ranked recruiting class, perhaps No. 2 behind Georgia, is coming soon for the Crimson Tide. With
prospects on a national and occasionally international level, the class’s cornerstone has been in place since 2022, but
UA was able to add three more on Wednesday.
Linebacker, defensive back, and wide receiver were the positions of emphasis because of past signing day misses and
anticipated roster upheaval. After a Rose Bowl practice, Nick Saban met with the media and gave an overview of the
class as a whole.
“We’re really happy with the class, but there are still some guys out there that we’re obviously interested in. Some
guys may sign in the coming days, and some guys will wait until February,” Saban stated. This is the result of
numerous people working extremely hard. Our coaching staff did an excellent job, in my opinion. The members of
the university community that assist us are really good at what they do.
“I still believe that we’re searching the market for a few more offensive lineman of that kind. We’re happy to have
them, both in terms of quantity and quality of experience, and we’re still searching for other candidates for that role.
Even though they won’t be able to play in the game, a number of mid-year enrollees, including five-star quarterback
Julian Sayin, have already been participating in postseason practices.
The official announcement dates of each new player by Alabama are shown below, along with complete highlights.
Justin Okoronkwo, 6:50 a.m. CT
Germany’s three-star linebacker prospect is Alabama’s first officially publicized signing in the 2024 class. In terms of
players in his position, Okoronkwo is ranked No. 53 by the 247Sports composite ratings.
Prior to switching to Alabama, he had pledged allegiance to Maryland.
