Daniel Dae Kim won’t be present for the series finale of The Good Doctor. In addition to serving as the show’s executive producer and
co-star in season 2, Kim played Dr. Jackson Han, Freddie Highmore’s Dr. Shaun Murphy’s colleague. Murphy is temporarily demoted
to pathology as a result of Han’s inability to comprehend him, and Han is ultimately fired from both the hospital and the program.
Han’s comeback seemed all but certain as the seventh season of the drama gets ready to wrap up.
But Kim is being candid about his availability as The Good Doctor season 7 approaches its February 20 premiere. Kim said that he
probably won’t be able to make it back to Deadline. Though he is grateful for the show’s success and has a very positive outlook on it,
his participation has been constrained by previous commitments. See his complete justification below:
Kim will not be able to act in The Good Doctor season 7, even if he is still an executive producer on the show. That would need a
significant time commitment, which Kim cannot afford because he is presently working on several projects that require him to
publicize his appearances in addition to participating in
As an executive producer, Kim’s latest projects include Avatar: The Last Airbender on Netflix and the upcoming Butterfly. In the latter,
a former intelligence officer is shown in a television series toiling furiously to save his life while dodging an assassin. Kim’s absence
makes sense—the filming process is usually difficult when there are significant stakes involved. Furthermore, he plays Firelord Ozai,
the main adversary in Avatar, which means he needs to spend a lot of time marketing the movie.
