Several players from the practice squad from the previous season are still with the Commanders.
The team declared that Mason Brooks, a guard, and Kazmeir Allen, a wide receiver/kick returner, had been re-signed. There will be
competition between the two guys for spots on the 90-man offseason roster.
After leaving UCLA undrafted in 2023, Allen signed a contract. During the team’s preseason schedule, he caught four passes;
nevertheless, he did not make the 53-man roster and was placed on the practice squad for the whole season.
During his collegiate career, Brooks attended Ole Miss and Western Kentucky. He was not drafted in April of last year, thus he also
signed with the Commanders.

Former Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan believes the Commanders hired Dan Quinn perfectly.
Falcons supporters have both happy and sad memories of Ryan and Quinn, who led the team to its greatest achievements, including
several postseason berths and a Super Bowl appearance.
Even with the wonderful memories, there was also a fair share of sadness. Although the run in 2016 was unique, Atlanta experienced a
tragic finish.
Before finishing 3-8 for the remainder of the season in 2015, Ryan and Quinn guided the Falcons to a 5-0 start. Even the 2017
campaign came to a disappointing conclusion.
But in consecutive seasons, every one of them left Atlanta. Quinn has spent the last three years with the Cowboys, while Ryan left to
join the Colts following the 2021 season and then moved into broadcasting with CBS last year.
Matt Ryan thinks the Commanders got the Dan Quinn hire spot on, despite the fact that the two never made it to the summit of the
mountain.
“I had a great time working with Dan in Atlanta, and I think he’s an amazing coach,” Ryan told reporters during Super Bowl week. “I
believe they’re going to get someone who consistently exudes great energy.” Creating the ideal culture is one of his strongest suit.
That’s what Washington needs, in my opinion, and I think he’ll do a fantastic job at it.
It was considerably bad than last year, when the Commanders finished 4–13. Washington’s run of sub-.500 seasons, which started in,
extended as they lost their final eight games, bringing their postseason absence to three years.
Ryan remarked, “He got you comfortable pretty quickly.” One of his best qualities, in my opinion, is that he gives players the freedom
to be themselves, feel at ease, and play to the best of their abilities.
Although Quinn’s “ra ra” coaching style is well known among Falcons supporters, it would be irresponsible to discount his abilities as a
football coach. Sure, he made errors and his upbeat coaching style grew tiresome, but the Falcons were successful under his
leadership.
