For a long time, Georgia was praised as RB U. And if injuries kept the tailback rotation a work in progress for the
majority of 2023, 2024 appears to be a return to normal.

The Bulldogs have added three freshmen as part of the 2024 signing class, are hoping to see what Andrew Paul can
achieve with a more year of experience, and are working to get back from injuries sustained by Roderick Robinson
and Branson Robinson. By acquiring former Florida tailback Trevor Etienne through the transfer portal, Kirby Smart
& Co. may have put together the largest component of a formidable running game.
With 753 yards on 131 runs (5.75 yards per carry) in 2023, Etienne was the second-leading rusher for the Gators and
ranked ninth in the SEC in terms of rushing yards per game. In addition, he added 21 receptions for 172 yards and a
receiving touchdown. Etienne recorded 249 carries for 1,472 yards and 14 rushing scores in his two seasons in
orange and blue (shudder), in addition to 30 receptions for 238 yards. To put it briefly, he is a player who has
produced with the ball on teams that had significantly less forward support than the one he will have in Athens.
The 5’9, 205-pound player has two more years of eligibility when he arrives in Athens. Though it’s likely that the Red
and Black will still see some transfers from the running back room, it’s obvious that, if there aren’t any more injuries,
the group should be a strength for the offensive, unlike in 2023. Until next time…
