Steve Casula has been named the new tight ends coach at Michigan.
Casula, who worked as an analyst for Michigan from 2019 to 21, is back in Ann Arbor following two seasons as the offensive
coordinator and quarterbacks coach at UMass. Colston Loveland, Marlin Klein, Brady Preiskorn, Hogan Hansen, Deakon Tonielli, and
Zack Marshall are among the tight end players that Casula will be coaching.
Moore praised Steve as a “smart, adaptable, and extremely talented coach who works hard to put the players in the best position to
succeed.” He’ll be a terrific addition to the offensive staff room and a resource for us when it comes to recruiting. We anticipate that
Steve will coach our tight ends and play a significant role in

the way this program uses tight ends, this will be an amazing group to lead as we continue to find and groom the greatest candidates
for that role.
Casula coached three first-team players and seven players who were named All-Independent during his tenure with the Minutemen.
Kay’Ron Adams, who ran the ball 236 times for 1,157 yards and 12 touchdowns, was a member of his first team. In addition to his 20
receptions for 118 yards, he was 20th in the FBS in rushing yards. The All-Independent Wide Receiver of the Year was Anthony
Simpson. With improvements of more than forty places in the national rankings across nine different categories, the 2023 offense at
UMass saw its greatest season since 2018.
