Pittsburgh Devon Wylie, a former wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers practice squad, went away at the age of 35, according to a
social media post made by Fresno State football. There is no known cause of death.
During the 2013 season, Wylie was in Pittsburgh for two weeks. Before moving on to the Tennessee Titans in year two, he was
originally selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the fourth round. He hopped about after that, playing for seven different teams,
including the Steelers.
During his career, Wylie caught 98 catches for 1,327 yards and eight touchdowns, making him a standout at Fresno State.
When Markus Wheaton became injured and needed to be replaced, the squad brought in the then-veteran. When he was in Pittsburgh,
Wylie was considered a possibility.
The Wylie family has the sympathy and best wishes of the entire Steelers team.
