Less than a month before talks started, the Philadelphia Eagles made two roster changes via NFL free agency. With their most recent
roster changes, Philadelphia is banking on the two 2024 Super Bowl teams, the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs. On
February 20, 2024, the Eagles announced the signing of Darian Kinnard, an offensive tackle from the Chiefs, and Tyrion Davis-Price, a
former running back for the Niners.
At a position where the Eagles could use some help at running back, Davis-Price has a lot of talent. With the 93rd overall pick, San
Francisco chose Davis-Price in the third round of the 2022 NFL draft. Throughout the last two seasons, Davis-Price has made just
seven appearances as a running back for a 49ers club that is deep in the backfield.
The Chiefs selected Kinnard in the fifth round of the NFL draft in 2022. The offensive tackle appeared in one game in 2022 and
trained with the Chiefs this past season. Although Kinnard does not have NFL experience, the offensive lineman has played on a
championship team.
At LSU in 2021, Davis-Price had 211 carries for 1,003 running yards and six touchdowns. NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein lauded Davis-
Price’s “explosiveness” ahead of the 2022 draft, calling the playmaker a “big, athletic back.”
The newest running back for the Eagles is described by Zierlein in his pre-draft profile as a “big, athletic back offering an enticing
blend of size and explosiveness to go with an SEC pedigree”. Davis-Price’s tape from the early parts of the season was dull and of low
quality, but that changed over
Zierlein said, “He got much better as the season went on and clearly finds a rhythm when given volume carries.” Scouts predict that a
key component of success in the future will be maintaining motivation. Davis-Price will generate yards thanks to his physical
attributes and hammerhead finishes. In the middle rounds, he should be taken into consideration due to his stature and potential.
