With the announcement on Friday that former Florida safety Miguel Mitchell will be joining Sam Pittman and the Arkansas
Razorbacks, the team received its thirteenth incoming transfer pledge. One of seven official visitors on the Arkansas campus last week
to begin the five-day visit window for midyear transfers was Mitchell, 6-1, 215 pounds. He is scheduled to formally join the program
this coming weekend after signing with the Hogs.
Defense coordinator Travis Williams and defensive backs coach Deron Wilson, who worked at Florida during Mitchell’s first season in
The Swamp recruited Mitchell for Fayetteville. The safety considered Memphis, Tulane, and LSU before making his choice.
After his visit, Mitchell remarked, “I feel like I’ve made a pretty good relationship with Coach T-Will and Coach Wilson, Me and him
have a prior relationship in Florida.” “It’s gone well.
“Just that bond with Coach Wilson; he was contacting me every day. The main reason I came up with the idea to investigate it was
because I knew him as a coach and as a person. He invited me to check out what they were discussing.”
In addition to Mitchell, Arkansas’ official visit list for the five-day window included South Alabama cornerback Marquise Robinson,
Utah running back Ja’Quinden Jackson, Florida offensive lineman Micah Mazzccua, Mississippi State offensive lineman Percy Lewis,
Albany defensive end Anton Juncaj and UAB cornerback Brian Mayes.
Quarterback Taylen Green of Boise State, running back Ja’Quinden Jackson of Utah, wide receiver Jordan Anthony of Texas A&M,
tight end Andreas Paaske of Eastern Michigan, offensive guard Addison Nichols of Tennessee, defensive end Anton Juncaj of Albany,
linebacker Xavian Sorey of Georgia, cornerback Marquise Robinson of South Alabama, safety Doneiko Slaughter of Tennessee, and
Kicker Matthew Shipley of Hawaii is among the other players who have committed to the Razorbacks.
According to 247Sports, Arkansas’ transfer class was rated fourth in the SEC and 16th overall before Mitchell was added to the
commitment list. During the early signing period, the Hogs signed 17 more high school players, bringing their total to 26th in the US
and 14th out of 16 SEC clubs. Arkansas is ranked 14th in the conference and 26th overall for the combined high school and transfer
class recruiting classes.
