Regarding the Chiefs offense, the official Super Bowl LVIII injury designations were made public by the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday.
The news was not entirely positive.
Due to a pectoral injury that held Joe Thuney out of the AFC Championship Game and prohibited him from training before the Super
Bowl, the Chiefs have decided to put Nick Allegretti in left guard position. Prince Tega Wanogho, an offensive lineman who is still on
injured reserve, was also ruled out by the Chiefs.
Despite being limited in practice this week while being on injured reserve, running back Jerick McKinnon is officially questionable for
the Super Bowl, which is fantastic news for the Chiefs offense.
Rashee Rice, the wide receiver, is back to full strength after being sidelined on Thursday with a “ankles” designation. This is the best
news on Friday’s report. Wanogho played all week but is still sidelined, so McKinnon and Thuney were the only players on the team
who did not contribute fully on Friday afternoon.
Speaking to the media earlier this week, Allegretti mentioned that Thuney was assisting him in getting ready for the Super Bowl game
and that he was practicing as though he would start:
Rice, Chris Jones, Isiah Pacheco, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, and other running backs are among the seven players who enter the game on
Sunday without designations. To end the week, they all participated fully in practice. This is encouraging for availability, particularly
for primary contributors. With Thuney sidelined, Kansas City is generally in a strong position going into the season’s biggest game.
