ESPN revealed on Saturday that the College Gameday basketball show will broadcast live from Tuscaloosa the following Saturday,
coinciding with a matchup against Tennessee.
This is the first time College Gameday has visited Alabama in relation to basketball. When the program debuted in 2005, Tuscaloosa
was one of just four SEC cities that hadn’t hosted College Gameday basketball yet. It has not yet been held in Oxford, Mississippi, or
Athens, Georgia.
On March 2, the show will air from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. CT, preceding an ESPN tip-off against the Vols at 7 p.m. CT. Alabama has a nine-
game winning run at home and a 16-game winning streak at home versus SEC opponents coming into this match. The Tide is 53-5 in
Coleman Coliseum since the 2020–21 season began, having won 28 of the previous 29 games there.
Dijon Lee, a defensive back from Mission Viejo, California, has adjusted the official visit schedule a bit.
Lee had officially scheduled official trips to Georgia on June 7 and Washington on June 21 until recently. Those two dates have since
been modified.
“I’ll be in Georgia on June 14 and Alabama on June.”
I was unaware that my grandfather had already scheduled Bama for the same weekend when we announced the Washington date. I
just need to find a new date for my vacation to Washington, which I will definitely still do.
According to Lee, the strategy is to complete at least three to four of his official travels before committing to a summertime schedule.
“I will definitely be visiting USC as well,” Lee declared. We’ll see if I can visit Florida, as that’s another school I’d like to see.
“Those are all my top schools at the moment, and after my visits, I’m going to try and commit probably in the middle of the summer.”
The trips will be significant for me because I have solid relationships with each of those coaches.
Already, Lee has a close relationship with each of his favorites.
Lee remarked, “I know that staff at Bama really well from when they were at Washington.” “They were one of my leaders and made me
an offer to go to Bama immediately.” Donte Williams is the one with Georgia. At USC, he was my main recruiter.
Because I had a good relationship with the personnel at Washington when they were at Arizona, I still rank Washington highly. My
favorite college is USC because it’s close by, but I also enjoy Florida and get along well with the new wide receiver coach, Will Harris.
