When the Green Bay Packers play the New York Giants on Monday Night Football at MetLife Stadium, wide receiver
Christian Watson might not be with them.
Watson’s hamstring injury sustained during the Packers’ Week 13 victory against the Kansas City Chiefs prevented
him from participating in Thursday’s practice. The extent of the damage is still unknown, however some reports
suggest it may not be too bad.
Still, there’s a chance Watson will drop a couple of games. The 24-year-old wide receiver is unsure if he will be able
to play when they play the Giants in Week 14.
According to Ryan Wood of USA Today, Watson told reporters on Thursday that it’s unlikely he would be ready to
play in the Monday Night Football matchup because his injuries will probably require more time to heal.
Christian Watson did, however, disclose that he is making every effort to ensure that he doesn’t sustain injuries
frequently, even in light of the very alarming news.
In order to better understand what he has to do, Watson stated that he had already spent “tens of thousands of
dollars” contacting medical professionals. Regarding his hamstring, Wood says he wants to strengthen his back to
prevent the hamstring from overcompensating.
“A lot of bizarre things exists. There are many bizarre machines available. Things such as magnets and the like. There
are many gurus out there; I try to avoid that kind of nonsense and stick to what science has shown to work,” Watson
continued to discuss his attempts to avoid
In order to prevent those kinds of things from adding to the tension in that area, I believe the primary focus should
be on strengthening my hips, back, and other weak areas. I have been doing that. Rather than concentrating solely
on the hamstring, I’ve been attempting to locate and speak with experts in the fields of knee, back, and other related
areas.
With any luck, Watson will be able to work on his body as he revealed to prevent severe and recurring ailments. He’s
one of the most promising young players in the Packers organization, along with Jordan Love.
Watson has already racked up 28 receptions for 422 yards and five touchdowns in the 2023 season thus far. The
Packers can only wait as hamstring injuries may be difficult to recover from, but it’s unclear if he actually needs to be
out and for how long.
