In order to complete their 2024 class, the Michigan Wolverines are hoping to obtain another pledge before
tomorrow’s early signing day. Like CB Jyaire Hill’s pledge from the previous cycle, the Wolverines are hoping that
something unexpected is planned for signing day.
The trend for Michigan’s four-star advantage
The Wolverines have a strong history of creating advantages. They often send players to the league, and when they
get to school, they radically change their bodies and skills. Perhaps their reputation will ensure Lugard Edokpayi’s
loyalty to them.
The Maryland 2024 four-star prospect is still undecided about where he wants to play at the next level. He concluded
his hiring process with a flurry of visits. Just this past month,
place to secure the state’s ninth-ranked player. Late last week, Zach Libby and EJ Holland of The Wolverine
submitted their own predictions, and Brice Marich of The Michigan Insider submitted one in support of the
Wolverines.
Edokpayi gave a positive account of his visit to Holland last week when he was visited in his house by Jeese Minter,
Mike Elston, and Dylan Roney.
“It went well,” Edokpayi remarked. “My parents were able to ask all the things they wanted to ask, and it was
wonderful to meet them in person. They discussed their academic program, how they are the best public school in
the nation, and how, in terms of academics, they are comparable to an Ivy League university. Regarding the football
component, it was primarily about the program’s culture and status as a blue blood. They discussed their defense
and how it operates.
Edokpayi would be a tremendous asset to the class and matches the size and athleticism of a Wolverine edge rusher.
A watch will be kept on his commitment as we approach tomorrow’s signing day.
Four-star wide receiver scheduled to sign tomorrow; already involved in team practices
Changes in staff throughout a player’s hiring process may not go well. After Chris Partridge left, the two main
concerns on everyone’s mind were how the linebackers would fare going forward and how it would affect their
recruiting class.
Thankfully, it appears that Michigan has committed every linebacker in the 2024 cycle. Four-star in-state prospect
Jeremiah Beasley, in particular, is already training with the team ahead of their Rose Bowl game against Alabama.
I practiced for the first time yesterday. I’m bringing them and myself to the bowl game. We’re leaving on the 26th, so
that works well for me then,” Beasley said to Brice Marich of The Michigan Insider. It’s early enrollment after that.
When they resume courses after break, I will be there. Spring ball and all that, so I’m going to strive for that.
The seventh-ranked player in the state, Beasley, had a fantastic last year. According to MaxPreps, he played both
sides of the ball, totaling over 110 tackles on defense and close to 1,000 yards and 14 touchdowns on offense.
Tomorrow, he’ll sign a contract with the Wolverines.
He is especially thrilled about the opportunity to play alongside two of his old buddies, Will Johnson and Semaj
Morgan. It attracted his attention to see how rapidly Michigan had developed the two young playmakers.
Beasley remarked, “Seeing someone that young come in and have that big of an impact kind of motivates me.” That
suggests to me that you can join in early and play just as well—if not better.
After Chris Partridge was fired, Jesse Minter’s father Rick is now acting as the linebackers coach. Beasley and the
other prospects have been kept at ease by the coaching staff’s attempts to be extremely open and honest with them.
Regarding the coaching staff, he remarked, “I feel comfortable.” “Jesse Minter’s father is the linebacker coach right
now. He is a very nice and intellectual man. To ensure that it has no bearing on their plans for this year, they intend
to hire someone following the bowl game. I feel really at ease since I know they’ll make an excellent decision.”
