With 21 signees, Iowa football has assembled a formidable scholarship class for the 2024 cycle.
The Hawkeyes have also put together a strong preferred walk-on class, and as we all know, developing the walk-ons
is a crucial component of the Hawkeyes’ program.
With the last touches being placed on the 2024 cycle, Iowa is seeking for more walk-ons over the next week and
month. As of right now, the Hawkeyes have 11 walk-ons in the 2024 class.
Let’s examine Iowa’s current walk-on signees.
Statistics during the Senior Season: As a senior, Glausser gained 2,908 running yards on 334 carries with 33
touchdowns. In the Class 4A State Championship game, Western Dubuque was defeated despite his 13 receptions for
215 yards and four touchdowns.
Overview: Later in his senior year, Glausser caught Iowa’s attention. However, it was his play in the state semifinals
and championship at the UNI-Dome last month that truly seemed to convince the Hawkeyes to sign him. In the state
semifinal victory over Bondurant-Farrar, Glausser—a former Minnesota State commit—had 36 carries for 193 yards
and two scores. Then, in the defeat to Lewis Central, he broke the record for the Class 4A State Championship by
scoring three touchdowns and 268 yards on 33 carries. After losing all of his breath, he went back to playing the
game. In fact, Glausser puked on the field following
being struck, then
coming back onto the field two plays later. Glausser had 16 carries for 154 yards and three
touchdowns in addition to his pre-hit stats after violently puking on the field. Former Iowa running back Tavian
Banks set the mark in the 1992 championship game with 250 yards; Glausser shattered it. Banks held the record for
the Class 4A state championship. As the only walk-on running back in the class, Glausser will be joining Brevin Doll
and Xavier Williams, two other scholarship running backs, in the 2024 class.
