Report: Kadyn Proctor will use the CFB Transfer Portal to return to Alabama after leaving Iowa…..see more

Kadyn Proctor seems to be joining the Alabama Crimson Tide again. According to David Eickholt of 247Sports, Proctor, who joined the Iowa Hawkeyes in January after logging into the transfer portal, is anticipated to return to Alabama when the second transfer portal window begins. Kirk Ferentz, the head coach of Iowa, stated in a statement on Tuesday, “It is unfortunate that Kadyn has informed us of his intentions to leave our program today,” according to Adam Rittenberg of ESPN.

“We wish him well in the future.” Proctor initially placed his name into the transfer portal after Nick Saban announced his retirement following 17 years as Alabama’s head coach.

In the transfer portal, 247Sports ranked the 19-year-old as the top offensive tackle and the second-best athlete overall. This is the second time Proctor’s services have been lost to Iowa. As a program fan growing up in Des Moines, Iowa, the offensive lineman looked up to Tristan Wirfs. Before switching to Alabama, he verbally committed to the Hawkeyes in June 2022.

In 2023, Proctor made his Crimson Tide debut at left tackle and was selected to the SEC All-Freshman team. He rejoins a Crimson Tide club now coached by Kalen DeBoer, a former head coach at Washington who signed an eight-year, $87 million ($10.9 million annually) contract with the program. A Crimson Tide offensive line will be stabilized with Proctor’s assistance.
