The Steelers have a significant hole in their wide receiver lineup going into the 2024 campaign after dealing Diontae Johnson to the
Panthers. One of the best wide receivers still available in free agency is the former Bengals standout Tyler Boyd, who Pittsburgh is
keen to sign.
The Steelers’ offense under new coach Arthur Smith would benefit from having the large slot receiver, but Boyd and the organization
are reportedly at odds over contract negotiations.
Boyd “wants to get paid more than [the Steelers] are offering him,” according to Mark Kaboly of The Athletic, who covers the Steelers.
He was heard on 93.7 The Fan.
Boyd is currently valued at $26 million for a three-year contract, according to Spotrac. In 2023, he had two touchdowns, 667 yards,
and 67 catches while playing for Cincinnati.
Kaboly had earlier stated that the addition of Boyd “doesn’t appear anywhere close to a sure thing like it appeared to be a week ago at
this time,” indicating that some members of the Steelers organization are not entirely on board with the move. The native of
Pittsburgh had previously expressed interest in signing a contract with his home team.
