Due to a right shoulder joint issue that has resulted in “dead arm,” Jrue Holiday, the starting point guard for the Boston Celtics, has
not played since March 17. There is currently no estimated date for his comeback, according to several publications.
Holiday, who has been named to the NBA All-Defensive Team first team three times in the last six seasons, was hurt after he collided
with Richaun Holmes of the Washington Wizards when Holmes was establishing a screen. A few minutes later, Holiday left the game
and hasn’t returned.
“I want to play still. That’s one of the main reasons I play hoops. However, it’s also maintaining time. While it’s possible to lose rhythm
after being out for a while, I feel like I’ve been in a solid groove and
Joe Mazzulla, the coach, said that Holiday is “in good shape.” He’s doing fairly well. He is improving.”
At 12.8 points per game, the 15-year veteran and two-time All-Star is scoring the fewest points he has since his Philadelphia 76ers
rookie campaign. However, he is on track to set career highs in assists (4.9) and rebounds (5.4), along with a 44.5 percent 3-point
shooting percentage.
With a league-best 57-14 record, the Celtics are 11 1/2 games ahead of their Eastern Conference rivals. They have guaranteed
themselves a postseason spot, and if they win their next game or the Milwaukee Bucks lose, they will win the Eastern Conference.
The first of their two games against the Hawks in Atlanta is scheduled for Monday night.
Holiday, who won the NBA championship in 2021, played for the Philadelphia 76ers for four seasons, the New Orleans Pelicans for
seven, and the Milwaukee Bucks for three.
On September 27, Milwaukee traded him to the Portland Trail Blazers in a three-team deal. Portland traded him to Boston for Robert
Williams, Malcolm Brogdon, and many draft picks less than a week later.
