Aaron Rodgers’ former colleague from the Green Bay Packers has been cut by the New York Jets.
Gang Green and seasoned defensive back Adrian Amos “have mutually agreed to part ways,” NFL Network Insider
Tom Pelissero tweeted on X earlier.
From 2019 until 2022, Amos and Rodgers were teammates for four seasons.
In 2023, the Amos-Jets Experiment fails.
In June, Amos, 30, agreed to a $1.75 million, one-year contract to become a member of the Jets.
Chuck Clark, the starting safety, appeared to have been introduced as a depth option at first, but it was later
discovered that he had suffered an ACL tear.
Amos was expected to open the season in one of the two safety spots after the news of Clark’s injury. But he was
outclassed for the
According to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, Clark is “third” among the Jets’ safeties in terms of snap rate this season.
Weird Time and Justification for Infrequent Jets Release
The Jets let go of a veteran about 24 hours before they take the field against the Atlanta Falcons.

This offseason, a number of players signed contracts with the Jets specifically to play alongside Aaron Rodgers.

Zach Ertz, a veteran tight end, asked for and received his release from the Arizona Cardinals this week. Ertz doesn’t
suit Arizona’s timeframe, and the team is expected to select in the top five in the next draft.
The two decided that splitting the business would be in everyone’s best interests. In exchange for Ertz’s opportunity
to pursue a second Super Bowl ring, the Cardinals receive some cap relief.
With a 4-7 record, the Jets have less than a one percent chance of qualifying for the postseason, citing ESPN’s playoff
prediction. Gang Green might have taken up Arizona’s way of thinking.
Additionally, head coach Robert Saleh disclosed that they chose to sit Allen Lazard out of Week 12 in order to take a
closer look at
The Jets’ chances of making the playoffs could become even more of a focus the remainder of the season if they are
eliminated.
The Jets have two players, youngster Jarrick Bernard-Converse and Ashtyn Davis, who both deserve more playing
time at safety.
