It is now just a matter of days before one of Tennessee’s top prospects announces his college choice. The Vols are one
of the six teams still in the running for five-star Class of 2024 offensive tackle Jordan Seaton of IMG Academy in
Bradenton, Florida. Seaton announced on Monday night via posts on his social media sites that he will be making his
commitment known on Thursday.
Six finalists will be considered by the 6-foot-5, 287-pound Seaton: Maryland, Ohio State, Oregon, Alabama, Florida,
and Tennessee. He recently concluded an official visit to Ohio State on Monday.
In addition, he has made formal trips to Tennessee, Alabama, Colorado, and Florida. The weekend of November 18,
the Vols invited him on an official visit and to their home game against Georgia.
More than thirty colleges have offered Seaton scholarships, including all six of the universities he is seriously
considering. According to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, he is classified as a five-star prospect and is
the top offensive lineman prospect in the 2024 class, as well as the 15th overall player. Additionally, 247Sports,
which ranks him as the No. 2 offensive tackle and No. 30 overall player in the 2024 class, has him pegged as a five-
star prospect.
More than two weeks ago, after his formal visit to Tennessee, Seaton remained mum on the Vols’ precise ranking
among his top teams. However, he stated they had “a real shot” and were “in a good spot” after his second visit to
Knoxville in less than two months.
Having seen Tennessee defeat South Carolina 41–20 almost two months prior, he stated he was excited to show his
parents the whole Vols program on this formal visit to Knoxville. The atmosphere of the game day inside Neyland
Stadium, as well as the information he received from Tennessee coach Josh Heupel’s staff, left him impressed once
more.
Seaton remarked, “I got to bring my whole family out with me, which is actually a very good deal.” “All you want is
for them to go through all that I have gone through.
“You don’t actually take care of yourself. It means a lot to me to be able to share my experience with my family
because you do it for others.
Due to injuries, Tennessee’s starting tackles for the Vols, both of them, did not play versus Georgia. That just served
to emphasize to Seaton that he might still contend for early playing time on their offensive line and that the Vols still
need more depth at the position.
He stated last month that “help is definitely needed on the front five, on both sides of the ball.” “The D-line
performed admirably, but they are losing players in the secondary. A DB suffered an injury. A walk-on played, so I
think Coach Heup will understand what he means when it comes to depth
He stated that “just the consistency that they have — with the recruitment process, with me” is the reason the Vols
continue to rank highly on his list.
Seaton stated last month that he intended to enroll as an early student at the college of his choice in January after
making his college choices public on December 20, the first day of the Early Signing Period. However, following his
visit to Ohio State, he has suddenly accelerated his timeframe for selecting a university.
