Gloucester, one of the biggest clubs in England, is expected to make a generous three-year contract offer to Tomos
Williams, a scrum-half for Cardiff who could become the next Wales international to depart the Welsh game.
Wales’s playing budgets will be cut from £5.2 million to £4.5 million for the upcoming season, which means that
many high-profile players would undoubtedly accept lucrative offers from England, France, and Japan. Over the last
five years, Williams has been a vital member of the Wales team, and English clubs have taken an interest in him due
to his exploits on the international front.
WalesOnline has learned that Gloucester has emerged as the team that wants to recruit Williams the most, and the
Cherry & Whites are optimistic that Williams will sign a contract soon. Williams can still be selected for the national
team even if he decides to leave Wales because he has 53 caps for the country.
