Georgia is widely known for being a tight end factory.
The Bulldogs already have two recruits committed to the position for the 2025 cycle in large part because of this. Additionally, it’s
what gives Georgia a competitive advantage at tight end in the Class of 2026.
Fewer locations are better to begin that cycle than Brunswick, Georgia, the residence of 6-foot-6, 250-pound Heze Kent.
The in-state tight end, who has offers from numerous schools including Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Miami, and
Tennessee, has already given Georgia a good impression. He will probably reduce that list in May.
The Bulldogs are currently a strong contender.
“I consider Georgia to be really good. Great hospitality, that’s what Kent said to Dawgs247. “I’m not sure. It’s only Georgia.
When Hartley sees Kent, they always have a good time.
Kent grinned, “He says, ‘Man, you look good in that red and black,'” “I just love the way Coach Hartley coaches and the way he uses
tight ends.”
Kent’s standing allowed him to be included in the coveted itinerary for the second time in as many years. Having visited Sanford
Stadium for the games against Ole Miss, Kentucky, and Tennessee in 2022 as well as for Ole Miss and Kentucky in 2023, Kent already
feels the most at ease in Georgia.
That meant that Kent was present when Brock Bowers made his comeback from an ankle injury.
“It’s crazy, especially big runs and big catches, it’s loud,” Kent stated. “When Brock Bowers gets the ball, you ain’t never heard a
stadium that loud before.”
When asked to evaluate his own play, Kent started by drawing the usual similarities between himself and recent Georgia greats Bowers
and Darnell Washington. Because of his primary focus as a run blocker, Bulldogs coaches have compared him to Washington.
Kent finds Athens particularly attractive because of Georgia’s extensive history at tight end.
It has a useful function. Everyone claims I have Darnell-like playing. You just can’t find somebody like Brock, man. There is no one
like Brock. He’s just an athlete, so I dunno. However, I play a lot more like Darnell,” Kent remarked. “Start blocking. Of course, I enjoy
getting up field and collecting the ball, but the majority of my play is team blocking.”
In March, Kent is probably going to travel to a spring practice in Georgia. He has already traveled to Athens. In addition, he has visited
Florida State, South Carolina, Kentucky, Cincinnati, and Florida. West Virginia, Oklahoma, Southern California, and Texas A&M are a
few locations that have recently offered
