Grant Williams, a former standout basketball player for the Tennessee Vols, was dealt by the Dallas Mavericks to the Charlotte
Hornets on Thursday.
Williams reportedly offended people in Dallas, which is why the Mavericks traded him shortly after the deal was finalized.
Tim MacMahon stated during an appearance on the Brian Windhorst Podcast, “The fact they gave up a 2030 swap for Grant Williams
and then dumped him as soon as they possibly could, which they were determined to dump him.” It was not only about obtaining P.J.
Washington; they also desired to leave Grant Williams’ affairs alone. He offended a great deal of people.”
Williams is renowned for his brazen on-court play, which has resulted in multiple confrontations this season, including two with Kevin
Durant and LeBron James.
Prodigious Mavericks player Luka Doncic hinted before the season that Williams occasionally talks “too much”.
Without a doubt, Williams has the ability to get under his opponents’ skin; in fact, it’s pretty much his game plan when he’s on the
court. However, that would be troublesome if he was also offending his teammates.
Who knows, of course, if this report is true? It is all a hearsay from MacMahon until a former teammate comes forward and verifies it.
