The Boston Celtics, an NBA team, have prematurely locked up the top spot in the Eastern Conference.
Boston lost their away game against Atlanta last night, Tuesday, March 26, by a score of 118:120. However, in spite of this result, the
Celtics have managed to take the top spot in the Eastern Conference rankings. They have 57 wins and 14 losses thus far in the regular
season, with 11 games left. Milwaukee, the team closest to Boston, is ranked second with a 46-25 record.
The Celtics have accomplished this accomplishment three times since 1988 (in 2008 and 2017). Boston won the conference title eight
times in nine seasons between 1980 and 1988.
It is important to remember that the Lakers just played in the highest-scoring NBA game in 37 years and broke the team scoring
record for this season. Their final score versus Indiana was 150:145, and they won.
It is noteworthy that the Milwaukee Bucks of the NBA faced the Phoenix Suns in a regular-season game and prevailed 140 to 129. The
association claims that the Bucks made 18 of their 27 three-point tries in the first half of the game, matching an NBA
