BREAKING NEWS: Just In Tennessee Volunteers Lose Another Top Super Star

It is claimed that another gifted athlete would leave the Tennessee Volunteers due to the transfer portal. Gerald Mincey, the starting offensive tackle, announced his plan to use the gateway on Thursday.

After the 2021 season, Mincey transferred from the Florida Gators to Tennessee. Mincey participated in nine games and started seven as left tackle during his first campaign in Knoxville. Mincey switched to the right side and made six starts in 2023. Despite injuries toward the end of the season, the tackle was a reliable starter for the majority of the campaign.

This offseason, Mincey is the 12th Vol to use the portal.

Mincey is the most recent of numerous 2023 team members to leave the Vols for other opportunities. Wesley Walker, Doneiko Slaughter, and Tamarion McDonald are just a handful of the defensive backs that have gone.

Along with fellow offensive lineman Mo Clipper Jr. and Addison Nichols, talented edge rusher Tyler Baron has also left the team.

Who will take Mincey’s place?

The Vols will probably search the portal for a successor for Mincey. The only player with right tackle experience presently on the team is Dayne Davis. Bennett Warren, a four-star recruit, will shortly arrive on school, but it is doubtful that the club will put a rookie in the thick of things.

Anticipate the Vols to search the portal for an experienced temporary replacement.
