On Saturday, December 23, before Leeds United destroyed Ipswich 4-0, Jaidon Anthony was sent home from Thorp
Arch.
The winger’s ailment kept him at home ahead of Christmas, as evidenced by his conspicuous absence from the team
at Elland Road today.
In the hopes of making a comeback against Preston, Daniel Farke continued by confirming that the Bournemouth
loanee will remain with the team for the duration of the campaign.
“Anthony was sent home ill from training yesterday,” he posted on X.
“Farke is hoping to play for Preston on Saturday. Additionally, it verifies Anthony’s presence for the remainder of the
season.
Anthony should have been sent home ahead of such a big week; there’s no need to risk things growing worse at
Thorp Arch.
It would have been foolish to risk the illness bug that was around the club earlier in the month spreading through the
winger once more.
Although Anthony hasn’t often started games, he has greatly aided the squad’s depth since joining, therefore his
absence wasn’t felt tonight because Dan James, Crysencio Summerville, and Willy Gnonto are all available.
As the games get more intense and It’s getting close to the journey to Preston—just three days remain—so having an
extra face at Deepdale will come in handy.
Good news, too, as Farke has confirmed Anthony will be around for the entire season. Rumors that Anthony would
return to Bournemouth have now been put to rest.
After an incredible afternoon, all eyes are now on Preston, and hopefully this is the only uncertainty.
