AUBURN, Alabama Terry Beasley, an Auburn standout receiver and former 49ers first-round choice who is now inducted into the
College Football Hall of Fame, passed away, reportedly by suicide, according to authorities. He was seventy-three.
Dennis Russell, the coroner for St. Clair County, stated that Beasley was pronounced dead on Wednesday at around 5:15 p.m.
According to Moody Police Chief Reece Smith, a possible suicide is being looked at in this instance.
“At five, we received a call.
There should be room for a new San Francisco second-string quarterback with backup 49ers quarterback Sam Darnold scheduled to
return to free agency with the goal of competing for a starting job someplace following a season in the 49ers quarterback room. And it
may present the 49ers with an opportunity to re-sign veteran backup Nate Sudfeld, a player they had not intended to let go in the first
place.
After almost missing out on a position with the 49ers in 2021, Sudfeld played with the Lions for the previous two seasons. He did not
play last year due to an ACL tear sustained at the conclusion of the preseason.
During that offseason, it seemed as though the 49ers were going to let go of Jimmy Garoppolo and replace him with Trey Lance at the
top of the depth chart, followed by Sudfeld. However, the 49ers were forced to dismiss Garoppolo at the end of camp when the
organization adjusted his contract and Purdy defeated our Sudfeld.
According to the people over at USA Today’s Niners Wire website, this may be a good moment to bring Sudfeld back.
