A former USC wide receiver has committed to Georgia.

Last month, Michael Jackson III made his way onto the transfer site. The former Trojans receiver revealed his move to Georgia on social media on Thursday by posting a graphic.

This season, Jackson saw action in seven Trojans games and finished with 17 receptions for 146 yards and a score. During his three years on the club, he hauled in 46 passes for 498 yards and five scores.

Coming out of high school, Jackson was regarded as a 4-star prospect by the composite rankings of 247 Sports. Many universities, including three SEC institutions (Kentucky, Ole Miss, and Tennessee), made offers to him.

Tight end Brock Bowers led Georgia in receiving this season with 56 receptions for 714 yards and 6 touchdowns. Bowers has subsequently declared his intention to join the NFL.

The next most prolific receivers for the squad were junior Dominic Lovett and senior Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint.

A tribute to the all-time best Georgia football player

One of Georgia football’s greatest players is leaving the team. It is official that Brock Bowers will be joining the NFL. That news probably didn’t surprise anyone, but it’s still heartbreaking. One of the finest players to don the red and black is definitely Brock Bowers. Yes, I am aware of Herschel, but did he ever capture two crowns in a row? Not at all! So my number one is Brock Bowers.

I must admit that I have a prejudice because I was a student throughout Brock Bowers’ playing career and was able to watch practically every game he participated in. Congrats, then, to the fortunate handful who got to see Herschel and Bowers. I’ll tell my children that I attended school with the all-time greatest Georgia football player.

There have been so many guys departing for the NFL that I haven’t written about them all. However, because the others are not Brock Bowers, I haven’t written about them either. While Sedrick Van Pran is undoubtedly one of the best lineman and leaders in Georgia football history, none compare to Brock. Ladd McConkey was amazing.

Early in September, I was on the phone catching up with an old buddy when we talked about Georgia football. As a devoted follower of USC, my friend was curious about what it was like to have a generational player and win national titles with them.

Before long, I was discussing the things that Bowers does and his demeanor both on and off the field. It was quickly brought to my attention that I had spent a full twenty-five minutes extolling the virtues of Brock Bowers. I was fanboying over someone who was four years my junior, and it humiliated me. But honestly, when you talk about Bowers, how much of a crime is it?

For the most part, supporters were unaware of Bowers’s recruiting. The most of us were unaware of him until we heard his name and the mention of Napa, California. However, once the well-known footage of him sprinting up the hill surfaced, conversations erupted.

A few months later, during summer and autumn practices, everyone spoke about this tight end named Brock Bowers. We had no idea that he would get the start in that crucial game in Charlotte versus Clemson, and the rest is history.

Starting with the long touchdown run in the second week of the 2021 season against UAB, followed by the end-around score against Vandy and the touchdown run versus Tech. Bowers produced plays fit for a highlight reel in every game in only one season.

Bowers will always be remembered as the player who secured the victory with the touchdown versus Alabama in the 2022 CFP Championship. Before Ringo’s interception, this was one of the biggest pops I had ever heard inside a stadium. Watch the clip of that Bowers run if you don’t think the noise level inside Lucas Oil Stadium was so high that the camera shook. Incredible.

All of this is to imply that Georgia football’s Mount Rushmore includes Brock Bowers. In addition to his skills, he was a positive role model for Georgia football both on and off the field. AN AWSOME DAWG!
