Not only are the Alabama Crimson Tide and Michigan Wolverines competing in the College Football Playoffs.
According to the most recent Michigan rumors, both Nick Saban and Jim Harbaugh are trying to sign former five-
star USC cornerback Domani Jackson. Michigan and Alabama are the two favorites to land Jackson via the transfer
portal, according to Pete Nakos of On3.com.
In an article published on December 21 under the heading “Transfer Portal Intel: Latest on Evan Stewart, Walter
Nolen, KJ Jefferson and more,” Nakos stated, “One of the top cornerbacks still on the board in the portal, Domani
Jackson officially entered the transfer portal on Monday night.”
“A few days into his portal recruitment, Michigan and Alabama are unquestionably in the lead, but he is open to
landing anywhere,” a source told On3. In the 2022 cycle, both were USC’s greatest rivals while he was a Five-Star
Plus+ recruit.
For Alabama or Michigan, this would be a huge addition. Jackson was rated as the best cornerback in the nation and
the fifth overall player in the 2022 class by On3.com coming into USC.
Jackson is the most recent player from USC to access the transfer site. After two seasons with the Trojans, the former
five-star is still waiting for his first interception.
In 11 games for USC the previous season, Jackson recorded 33 tackles and three pass deflections. Jackson would
probably benefit from playing on a more formidable defense, as head coach Lincoln Riley’s squad is one of the
Trojans’ greatest flaws.
Two of the clubs that made offers to Jackson in 2022 were Michigan and Alabama, two of the best high school
recruits. Among the elite teams vying for the corner spot were Clemson, Florida State, and Georgia. Greg Biggins of
247Sports likened Jackson, who excelled during his high school years at Mater Dei in California, to former NFL
cornerback Xavier Rhodes.
Biggins wrote, “Long, well-built corner with an NFL body right now,” in an appraisal dated May 26, 2021. 190

Alabama had the second-best recruiting class for 2024, according to the On3 rankings, while Michigan came in lower
at No. 17. In the Rose Bowl game, the Wolverines are 1.5-point favorites over the Crimson Tide.
According to FanDuel, Michigan is the slight favorite to win the national championship going into the College
Football Playoffs at +200 in the odds. With +220 odds, Alabama is a close second.
