ATHENS, Georgia (AP) β Uga X, the former Georgia mascot whose eight-year tenure included consecutive national titles, passed
away on Tuesday.
Uga X, who debuted on the sidelines of Sanford Stadium in 2015, was 2 years old and a member of the English bulldog mascot line
that dates back to 1955. During a ceremony held during the Bulldogs’ 2023 spring football game, “Que,” the bulldog, officially retired.
Boom, also a puppy English bulldog, Uga XI, assumed command for the 2023 season.
The mascot line has been preserved for nearly 70 years by the Seiler family, who are situated in Savannah, Georgia, and are directed by
Charles Seiler. According to his family, 10-year-old Uga X passed away quietly at home in Savannah.
Georgia, who had Uga X as their mascot, went 91β18 from 2015 to 2022, winning two SEC titles, the national championship in 2021
and 2022, and seven New Yearβs Six bowl appearances.

January 23, UPI The school declared on Tuesday that Uga X, the English bulldog mascot of the Georgia Bulldogs, had passed away. He
was ten years old.
The Bulldogs reported that the dog passed away quietly in his sleep on Tuesday morning at his Savannah, Georgia, home. During the
most decorated period in Bulldogs football history, Que was the team’s mascot. During that time, the squad finished 91-18 and won
two national titles.
On November 21, 2015, he made his on-field debut in the Bulldogs’ 23-17 victory over Georgia Southern in Athens, Georgia.
Que gained notoriety in 2019 after the 1,600-pound bull, Bevo XV, the living mascot of Texas, almost ran him over.
After the 2022 season, Que retired, making way for Boom, the current mascot. Since 1956, when Uga I’s reign began, the Seiler family
has been the proud owner of the Bulldogs’ present line of pure white English bulldogs. On game days, the dogs live in air-conditioned
dog homes on the field and wear jerseys and spike collars.
According to the school’s athletics website, Georgia is the only major university that hides its mascots “within the confines” of its
stadium. The first eight bulldogs of the school are interred in marble vaults close to

XI, was unveiled as the new mascot.
