wo-time The grandmother of Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes passed away recently. She had been battling a number of health
problems for the previous several weeks.
Teresa Jane, a close friend of Randi Mahomes from Tyler, Texas, informed Randi of her mother Debbie Bates’s passing a few days
after it became public that she was not in good health.
Teresa shared the following on Facebook: “Today, my best buddy @randimahomes lost her best of best pals. her kindly mother. the
one who consistently turned up for everyone. The person who loved her unconditionally and was more alike to her than anyone else—
please remember her in your thoughts and know that her phone and texts have been inundated with love, but she is still unable to
respond.”
The Real Neon, a Twitter user who is another family friend, wrote: “I hadn’t had the opportunity to see Debbie Martin in a very long
time, but she was always such a sweet and kind person.” My sympathies are with the entire Martin/Mahomes family, including
@tootgail (Randi Mahomes). Debbie, soar high and relax.”
Debbie Bates Martin’s memorial service will take place in Henderson, Texas, on Monday. Mahomes’ grandmother, who has been his
biggest admirer since he played football at Whitehouse High School, will be missed and loved by those who knew her best.
Randi shared a video of Patrick and the Mahomes family celebrating with his grandmother Debbie on Instagram just nine weeks ago.
Randi posted: “The wager was won! It was drank by her! Success! This granny gets to hang out with me in Arizona, but I need help
right now! Aid! Haha.”
Apart from his grandmother’s passing, the Mahomes family has been dealing with other issues. Jackson, Patrick’s younger brother, is
charged with beating a 19-year-old waitress and forcing a kiss on a woman.
