Earlier in the season, quarterback Kirk Cousins of the Minnesota Vikings was having what most likely would have
been a career season
. Unfortunately, a horrifically torn Achilles ended his season prematurely. It was a wound that
might have been Cousins’ last with the Vikings.
Many predict that the team will search the offseason for a new starting quarterback. Cousins would then have to
hunt for employment elsewhere. He won’t have any trouble landing a new work elsewhere if he can recover to full
health.
Many organizations have been considered as possible offseason destinations for Cousins. The Seattle Seahawks,
Atlanta Falcons, Tampa Bay Bucs, and New England Patriots are a few of such teams.
Kirk Cousins of the Vikings Provides a Major Injury Update In Week 14
Cousins talked candidly about his recuperation from the injury during Monday Night Football on the ManningCast.
So far, it appears that he is progressing well.
Everything is moving along nicely. Day by day. They informed me that going to rehab would be similar to being in a
general upward trend in the stock market, with some days being better than others. I make jokes about how the
market has been booming ever since surgery. I’m just getting better every day and haven’t experienced the bear
market yet, so I’m kind of waiting for it.
Of course, this update sounds quite positive. That being said, there’s no assurance Cousins will ever revert to his
former, healthy self.
Cousins was putting up huge numbers in the eight games he played for the Vikings before to suffering a torn Achilles.
He completed 2,331 yards, 18 touchdowns, and only five interceptions on 69.5 percent of his pass attempts. There
were even others who believed he could make it into the MVP discussion.
Hopefully, Cousins’ recuperation goes smoothly and he can return to the field in good health. Throughout his career,
he has excelled as a quarterback but has always been an even greater person off the field.
Over the next many weeks and months, expect to hear additional updates regarding Cousins’ recuperation. Many
teams will try to add him in the offseason if he can return to his pre-injury level of play. He may even
