While they advanced to Super Bowl LVIII in the regular season of 2023, the Kansas City Chiefs encountered criticism. Throughout the
postseason, including their overtime triumph over the San Francisco 49ers, they were frequently selected as the underdog.
The players have welcomed the bad press and frequently capitalized on it when they were on a winning streak. Unless their name is
Charles Barkley, the critics are typically not mentioned by name in any of the players’ news conferences or interviews. The legendary
basketball player has never hidden his love of sports betting, and he has a history of winning against the Chiefs during the postseason.
Barkley’s prediction errors were brought to the attention of the public by Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who recently
addressed Barkley on social media.
Mahomes wrote on his X account, “Watching @NBAonTNT and trying to see if my man Charles is going to pick against the Chiefs
again in the next round!”
Barkley took a moment during the program to address the camera directly, so Mahomes didn’t have to wait long for a reaction.
Barkley praised Andy Reid and stated, “Travis and Chris Jones, Chris Jones, I love you, number one, congratulations.” Indeed, I
placed bets against you in Buffalo and Baltimore. And in the Super Bowl, I’m betting against you. I had a zero for three. I had to wait
till the following year; congrats, sibling.
As shown on the venerable basketball program Inside, Barkley hasn’t had the best track record when it comes to placing wagers or
offering promises. The NBA It is probably best for Mahomes and the Chiefs to hope that he stays against them in 2024.
