Another slugger in the middle of the lineup would be helpful for the New York Mets.
The off-season in New York has been fascinating. The Mets have made improvements to the team without signing a big contract. On
On paper, New York is now a stronger squad, and they ought to win more games in 2024.

As things are, New York needs to bring in another power player. One player who has been mentioned as a possibility is Cody Bellinger.
a former standout for the Chicago Cubs.
However, a relocation should still be regarded as doubtful. According to MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand, Bellinger’s price tag is expected to
be extremely high, and there will be fierce competition for his talents, particularly from the Toronto Blue Jays and Chicago Cubs.
“The Los Angeles Angels, San Francisco Giants, Mets, and Seattle Mariners all make sense as potential landing spots for
Bellinger, but none of those clubs appear to be ready and/or willing to pay the asking price, which is believed to be north of $200
million,” Feinsand stated. Although Toronto re-signed Kevin Kiermaier to play center field, the Blue Jays are still seen as strong
contenders, and Bellinger, who can also play first base to relieve Vladimir Guerrero Jr. on occasion, should not be overlooked.
As is frequently the case, the cost will be the decisive element. Lastly, the Cubs should still be considered favorites to reunite with
Bellinger on the North Side. Although the Cubs front staff has shown remarkable discipline in not wanting to bid against itself to
acquire Bellinger, Chicago hasn’t done much to replace his bat in the lineup up to this time.”
The Mets would greatly benefit from adding Bellinger, although it should be regarded as an improbable move.
