Despite a recent slump in performance, Ipswich Town is reportedly aiming to bolster the team before the January transfer window
ends on Thursday.
With a fantastic start to the 2023–24 season, The Tractor Boys are holding onto second position in the Championship. However, in
their previous seven league games, Kieran McKenna’s team has only managed one victory.
Ipswich, who have only accrued one more point than Watford and less than Coventry City and Norwich City, are sixth in the
Championship standings after 14 games, according to the Not The Top 20 Podcast.
However, Jeremy Sarmiento’s late equalizer on Monday night against league leaders Leicester City shown that the Blues are still
capable of competing with the top clubs in England’s second division.
In any case, McKenna is allegedly eager to bolster the first team roster in order to help Ipswich Town achieve an extraordinary
promotion back to the top flight for the first time in almost 20 years.
The East Anglian team will compete for Heart of Midlothian fullback Alex Cochrane against Burnley, a Premier League team facing
relegation, and Blackburn Rovers, a fellow Championship team, according to a recent report from Football Insider.
According to the publication, with the winter transfer window closing in a week, all three teams will fight for Cochrane’s signing after
being pleased by his achievements in the Scottish Premiership.
The Edinburgh News further said that Hearts will not entertain offers for the Brighton and Hove Albion academy product that are less
than £2 million.
