Aaron Jones, a star running back for the Green Bay Packers, is one of three contenders for the coveted NFL award.
One of the nicest and most community-minded athletes in the NFL is running back Aaron Jones of the Green Bay Packers. Although
he was not selected this year, he has established himself as a yearly contender for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award in the NFL
(This year’s nominee was De’Vondre Campbell of the Packers.).
In addition to helping at-risk youngsters and cancer patients, Jones and his brother Alvin founded the A & A Foundation, which also
offers support to other nonprofits that help jobless war veterans find employment.
Jones was recently announced as one of three contenders for the NFL’s Salute to Service Award, despite not being nominated a
nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award this season.
“The Salute to military Award is a component of the NFL’s and USAA’s year-round effort to empower, celebrate, and establish a
connection with the veterans, military members, and families of our country. The 32 candidates who represented the greatest
examples of support for the military community among active and retired players, coaches, club executives, and staff members were
revealed for each NFL franchise in November.On Thursday, February 8 at the Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas, the Salute to
Service Award recipient will be acknowledged at NFL Honors, a primetime awards spectacular that will air nationwide on the CBS
Television Network and NFL Network and stream on Paramount+ and NFL+.

Three-time Super Bowl champion and Salute to dedication honor adjudicator Chad Hennings stated, “Each nominee displays the
qualities of sacrifice, service, and integrity, which serves as the cornerstone of this award.” “Joe Cardona, George Kittle, and Aaron
Jones should be proud of this achievement because they are all excellent examples of serving their communities, organizations, and
countries.”

“Aaron Jones has made giving back to active-duty personnel and veterans a major focus of his community participation. He knows
intimately the sacrifices associated with serving, having served in the U.S. Army alongside both of his parents growing up. Jones is
heavily involved in the Packers’ Salute to Service campaign, acting as the program’s spokesperson and participating in all veteran
honoring events. He promoted Patriot K9s of Wisconsin, a nonprofit organization that matches veterans with trained assistance dogs.
during a November event last year.
Jones has been speaking with young people at military academies, sending films to veterans, and participating in veteran-honoring
events like the team’s Huddle for Heroes during the past several years. He has paid medical visits to service members and gone to
military installations, such as Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas, the location of his birth. Jones also exhibits his commitment to serving
military personnel by founding the A&A All the Way Foundation with his twin brother Alvin. This foundation assists individuals in
need,, with a particular focus on respecting and supporting military families.
