Ferrari did not specify how long the agreement will last, although it is anticipated that the Monegasque will stay with the team until
the 2026 rule change.
“I’m very pleased to know that I will be wearing the Scuderia Ferrari race suit for several more seasons to come,” Leclerc stated.
Since I was three years old, watching the Monaco Grand Prix via the window of a friend’s flat at Ste Devote Corner has been my goal to
compete for this team. I would always keep an eye out for the red cars.
Since I enrolled in the Ferrari Driver Academy in 2016, this team has been my second family, and together we have accomplished a
great deal, persevering through good times and bad.
But I think the best is still to come, and I’m excited for this season to begin so I can keep improving and compete in every race. My
goal is still to win a world championship with Ferrari, and I have no doubt that we will have fun together and delight our supporters in
the years to come.”
Leclerc, a longtime Ferrari protégé, began racing for the Maranello team in 2019 after spending his rookie year with Alfa Romeo.
That season, the 26-year-old won his first two races for the Prancing Horse in Belgium and Italy. Since then, he has increased his win
total by three more races while Ferrari has found it difficult to contend with Red Bull and then Mercedes.
23 pole places support his five victories, demonstrating his unmatched speed in the face of Ferrari’s recent struggles to maintain a
competitive edge over the course of a race.
“Charles’ bond to the Scuderia goes beyond that of just a driver and a team, as he has been part of the Ferrari family for eight years
now, dating back to a time before he first sported the Prancing Horse emblem on his race suit,” stated Fred Vasseur, the team’s CEO.
Since our team’s ideals and his are aligned, it was only logical for us to agree to continue working together.
“We value his exceptional skills when it comes to and are aware of his constant drive to push himself to the utmost.
