Before the 2024 MotoGP season begins, Marc Marquez is the center of attention.
After making the drastic choice to leave Honda, he is making his race debut on a Ducati this weekend in Qatar.
This year, Marquez will ride a GP23 at Gresini Ducati, while his factory Ducati and Pramac competitors will ride the improved ’24
version.
Can Marquez, though, stop the downward trend of the last several years?
Big forecasts for the eight-time world champion’s season are made by our journalists.
Peter McLaren: vying for the podium, in the top six. Possibly on it.
Robert Jones: Marc Marquez has performed well in his testing thus far, so being among the top five or perhaps a podium seems
doable.
Jordan Moreland: It’ll be the ideal beginning if he places among the top five or on the podium.
Peter McLaren: His favorite songs are those that go counter-clockwise. Marquez’s track record at COTA and Sachsenring is
unmatched, so it seems sense to anticipate something exceptional there. Then there’s Valencia, Phillip Island, Aragon, etc.Marquez
can compete for the title if he wins races, but so can most likely seven or eight other people!
Robert Jones: Marquez will win eight races overall, including sprint events, according to my prediction. The races he will do best at are
COTA, Argentina, Le Mans, Sachsenring, Buriram, and Phillip Island.
Jordan Moreland: Marc should win eight races, presumably more grand prix than sprint races. Marquez has demonstrated proficiency
in well-known circuits such as COTA, Sachsenring, and Aragon in the past. He can win the crown, of course! That ninth World
Championship is what he wants.
