Ohio State will host former Alabama center Seth McLaughlin for his last collegiate football season.
McLaughlin, who visited Columbus this week, revealed on Instagram on Saturday that he is transferring to the Buckeyes. On
On Wednesday, he logged into the NCAA transfer website.
McLaughlin, a former Georgia three-star recruit, started for Alabama late in the 2021 season and has been the team’s starting
quarterback for the last two years. This season, he has struggled with his snapping, as seen by many poor snaps in Monday’s Rose
Bowl defeat to Michigan.
On the Pat McAfee Show on Thursday, Nick Saban stated, “He was snapping the ball early and when we weren’t ready sometimes.”
“That’s a huge issue for our quarterback.”
It’s unknown who will take McLaughlin’s spot at center for the Tide next season. Terrence Ferguson was one of the leading
possibilities, but this week he also visited Florida State and used the transfer portal.
James Brockermeyer is the lone returning center from Alabama with playing experience; he has participated in five games in the
previous three seasons.
