Throughout the entire season, the quarterback position has been difficult for the New York Giants. Before he injured
his ACL and was sidelined for the remainder of the season in 2023, Daniel Jones was the team’s starter. Tyrod Taylor
replaced Jones in the starting lineup after he was injured, but he was hurt in week eight against the New York Jets
and hasn’t played since. Since then, Tommy DeVito has been the Giants’ primary center. Fans recently learned who
will start this week against the Green Bay Packers.
New York will start DeVito this Monday night football, despite Taylor’s return to practice this week from the injured
reserve, and Giants fans are not pleased with the selection. DeVito has accumulated 697 throwing yards, seven
touchdowns, and three interceptions since returning to action in late October. New York fans don’t think the DeVito
should play out the 2023 season and are urging the team to replace the quarterback right away.
Although many supporters don’t think highly of the rookie quarterback, others argue that he is the best choice
available and that, considering the circumstances, he has been playing well. There’s merit to the claim made by
supporters that DeVito would perform better if the Giants possessed an offensive line capable of guarding their
quarterback. With 69 sacks allowed through 13 weeks of play, the team leads the NFL in sacks allowed, which is a
major factor in the absence of their starting two quarterbacks due to injuries.

Giants are hoping to have Dexter Lawrence back soon after his injury
The official injury report for the New York Giants, who host their next game on Monday night, must be submitted by
Thursday. However, head coach Brian Daboll did offer an early look at a few important players.
On Tuesday, the team’s first full practice following the bye week, offensive tackles Evan Neal (ankle) and Dexter
Lawrence (hamstring) were not allowed to participate. Daboll stated that they hope to get Lawrence back later this
week and that he will be able to play against the Packers. Lawrence was injured in Week 12 and missed his first
career game.
This season, Neal has had two ankle injuries; the most recent one happened in Week 9 against the Raiders. Due to
this most recent injury, he has missed his last three games. He had previously missed two games because of an ankle
injury from the previous season.
Additionally, tight end Darren Waller (hamstring) is making improvement and is eligible to return from injured
reserve, according to Daboll. But given that Waller is sticking to a rigorous recovery schedule in an attempt to return
this season, it doesn’t sound like he’ll be ready to go by Monday.
