Antonio Pierce gained the full-time position prior to the 2024 season after serving as the Las Vegas Raiders’ interim head coach and
having a great run. The Raiders’ current priority is expanding Pierce’s roster.
Christian Wilkins, who was just released, would significantly strengthen Las Vegas’ defense. According to betonline.ag, the Raiders are
currently the favorites (+300) to sign Wilkins. The Chicago Bears (+700) and Seattle Seahawks (+100) complete the top five
prospects, while the Houston Texans (+400) and Detroit Lions (+500) complete the top three.
Wilkins was one of many Dolphins players released before free agency in an attempt to come in under the salary cap. He quickly rose
to the top of the market’s most sought-after goods.
In the 2023 season, the defensive tackle recorded nine sacks, a new career high. 23 QB hits and 65 tackles were added by him. In
terms of sacks and quarterback hits in 2023, Wilkins would have behind only Maxx Crosby if he had been a member of the Raiders.
Wilkins finished his five-year Miami career with 355 tackles, 50 quarterback hits, and 20.5 sacks.
With an average of 330.9 yards per game, the Raiders’ total defense ranking at the end of the 2023 season was 15th. Their least strong
suit was their run defense, which allowed 118.5 YPG to rank 21st overall.
