It has been reported that Carlos Sainz and Max Verstappen may rejoin to Red Bull in the event that his Ferrari contract is not renewed
after the F1 2024 season.
Since joining Ferrari in 2021, Sainz has had some measure of success. He won his first Formula One race at the 2022 British Grand
Prix and went on to become the only driver who isn’t from Red Bull to win a race in Singapore in 2023.
The contracts of Ferrari drivers Sainz and teammate Charles Leclerc, however, are slated to expire at the conclusion of the following
season, casting doubt on their futures.
Carlos Sainz will replace Sergio Perez at Red Bull, right?
Leclerc is anticipated to sign a new long-term contract, although Sainz’s future is reportedly less certain.
By the last year of his terms, his beginning pay of €25 million would have doubled to €50 million.
Ferrari’s expected title assault never materialized in F1 2023, and the Scuderia lost to Mercedes in the fight for runner-up position,
which they sealed with a P2 finish at the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. It was another disappointing campaign for the
Scuderia.
But under the new terms for Leclerc, performance-related exit provisions would take effect after the third year, according to La
Gazzetta dello Sport, which claims the announcement is “imminent.”
