After touring the Razorbacks, Georgia Tech, and Clemson, offensive lineman Addison Nichols, a transfer from
Tennessee, made his commitment to Arkansas.

The 6-5, 327-pound Nichols participated in all of the Vols’ regular-season games in 2023 and just two in 2022 as a
rookie. He can play guard as well as center.
Before traveling to Arkansas late Friday night, Nichols stopped at Clemson last week and Georgia Tech the weekend
of December 8–10. On Sunday, he departed.
Speaking with new offensive line coach Eric Mateos and Razorbacks coach Sam Pittman was, according to him, the
high point of the trip to Fayetteville.
Nichols pronounced it “very impressive” on Sunday. This facility taught me a lot more than I had anticipated.
Everything is around. I had no idea.
Razorbacks are anticipating news from many transfers.
Sam Pittman, the football coach at the University of Arkansas, and his staff currently have six transfer commitments
and are awaiting news from several more players regarding their decisions.
The Razorbacks are awaiting word from Georgia transfers Xavian Sorey, a consensus 4-star linebacker, and Nyland
Green, a former 5-star recruit. Last week, both paid formal visits to Fayetteville.
Nate Matlack, a transfer defensive end from Kansas State, visited Arkansas last week and made his commitment to
Pittsburgh.
Since the regular season ended on November 26, more than 2,000 players have used the NCAA transfer portal,
according to a report from ESPN on Sunday. Many more are anticipated to do so before the portal closes at midnight
on January 2.
Fernando Carmona, a former lineman for San Jose State, and Blackstock. In addition, they’re waiting on former
Tennessee lineman Addison Nichols to make an announcement.
At 327 pounds and 6 feet 5 inches, Nichols made his official visit to Fayetteville late on Friday and departed on
Sunday. He’s been to Clemson and Georgia Tech before. He is ranked No. 256 overall and No. 23 among interior
offensive linemen in the transfer portal by On3.com.
Carmona, 6-5 and 315 pounds, turned down scholarship offers from BYU, Auburn, and UCLA to attend Arkansas. He
is ranked as the No. 2 interior offensive lineman and the No. 37 overall transfer in the transfer portal by On3.com.
Blackstock, who is 6-5 and 315, chose the Hogs over other teams like Penn State, North Carolina State, Ole Miss,
Colorado, and Louisville. He is ranked No. 1 on On3.com.
On December 11, Pittman and offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino secured the commitment of Taylen Green, a
former Boise State quarterback, with a score of 6-6 and 221. According to On3.com, he is the No. 99 overall transfer
and the No. 17 quarterback in the transfer portal
Over the previous two seasons, he ran 158 times for 1,020 yards and 19 touchdowns while completing 287 of 483
passes for 3,794 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions. Green was selected as a College Football News
Freshman All-American for the second team.
Andreas Paaske, a 6-6, 255-pound tight end from Denmark and a former Eastern Michigan standout, committed to
the Razorbacks on December 10 in spite of an offer from Sam Houston State. He is ranked No. 765 among transfers
overall by On3.com.
Transfer of safety to Tennessee 6-0 and 190-pound Doneiko Slaughter just required an
On Sunday, Matthew Shipley, a 6-1 and 190-pound former kicker for Hawaii, became the newest Arkansas pledge.
Over the previous two seasons, he completed 30 of 38 field goals, with a long of 51 yards. He chose the Hogs over
Penn State and Oklahoma, who both shown interest. He is ranked as the fourth kicker in the portal by On3.com.
Compared to last year, the Hogs have landed transfers at a faster rate. In the previous year, Arkansas had four
transfer commitments before the early January 4–8 visiting window.
In January, Arkansas added seven more transfers. The eleven participated in spring practice after enrolling in
January.
In the spring, the Razorbacks gained eight more transfers, bringing their total to 19. On3.com reports that the class
placed seventh nationally.
On3.com ranked the 2022 class of nine transfers from Arkansas as the ninth best in the country. Four transfers
committed in January, and three committed in the spring to the Hogs.
During the window of January 3–7, when transfers are permitted to make formal campus visits, more transfers are
anticipated to stay with the Hogs.
Kemari Copeland, an Iowa Western Community College defensive lineman and native of Virginia, visited Arkansas
and North Carolina State before deciding to commit to Virginia Tech.
Tyler Woodward, an East Mississippi Community College defensive back, visited the Hogs over the weekend but
remained committed to Mississippi State.
Arkansas is waiting on defensive back Brylan Lanier of East Mississippi Community College to make his choice.
Before, he made formal visits to North Carolina State, Georgia, and Arkansas.
In addition, the Razorbacks are waiting for word on two high school targets: linebacker Bradley Shaw of Hoover,
Alabama, and receiver Courtney Crutchfield of Pine Bluff.
At a signing ceremony at his school today at 10 a.m., Crutchfield will make his announcement. It’s anticipated that
he’ll select between Auburn, LSU, Missouri, and Arkansas.
Shaw has not yet made an announcement, but it is anticipated that he will select between Clemson and Arkansas.
