Three lessons to be learned from Kentucky basketball’s victory over Georgia……

After a minor glitch last Saturday against Texas A&M, the Aggies’ extremely mediocre offense proved too much for the Kentucky

Wildcats’ defense to contain, as John Calipari’s squad suffered their third loss of the year.

Kentucky basketball: Takeaways from game vs Georgia Bulldogs | Lexington Herald Leader

The Wildcats recovered to win this Wednesday against Mississippi State thanks to a little improved defense.

The Georgia Bulldogs visit Kentucky on Saturday, and the oddsmakers appear to think Kentucky will win handily.

DraftKings Sportsbook indicates that Kentucky is favored by a margin of -11.5 points. The Wildcats are likewise favored to win the

game by 84.6% according to ESPN’s Basketball Power Index.

But will Kentucky find it that simple?

With a record of 13-4 overall, this Georgia squad has won 11 of its past 12 games. They had previously defeated the likes of Florida

Mizzou, Arkansas, and South Carolina, and last weekend they gave Tennessee a serious run for their money in a tight loss.

With 11 players averaging at least one basket each game, the Bulldogs have a deep squad as well.

Antonio Reeves is the leader of Kentucky’s offensive, which has a stellar track record. But almost every opponent they’ve faced has

managed to get past their defense.

The Wildcats will need to improve on defense and put up another strong offensive performance if they are to win handily, as the

oddsmakers anticipate.
