As the January transfer window draws to a close, EFL teams are racing against the clock to finalize deals before the deadline of
February 1. As teams from all three divisions want to make the acquisition that might make all the difference this season, the quantity
of rumors about possible transactions is increasing daily.
Leeds is negotiating a deal for Rodon.
Football Insider claims that Leeds United is eager to make Joe Rodon’s loan deal from Tottenham permanent. With 23 Championship
matches under his belt, the Welsh defender has been a constant in Daniel Farke’s squad since his summer transfer.
Leeds is known to want to complete a deal as quickly as possible, but given the anticipated cost of the transfer, this could not be
feasible within the January transfer window. Depending on how well the 26-year-old performs between now and the end of the
season, it is thought that his possible cost might increase to between £15 million and £20 million.
Middlesbrough replies to offers from Rogers
Multiple bids from Aston Villa for Middlesbrough winger Morgan Rogers have reportedly been turned down. The 21-year-old joined
Michael Carrick’s team on a permanent basis at the beginning of this season, but he has only been on Teesside for six months.
Because of the duration of his current four-year deal, Boro are seen to be in a strong negotiating position. However, rumors indicate
that they may find it difficult to hold onto Rogers, as he is apparently thrilled about a possible move to Villa Park. The club is
reportedly open to negotiate a better agreement, but any interested parties would need to match their high asking price.
Maresca discusses the accusation of Sensi transfer.
This month in the Championship, Leicester’s pursuit of Stefano Sensi of Inter Milan has generated a lot of discussion. Italian reports
claimed a deal had been reached, but Foxes manager Enzo Maresca has refuted this, saying the club’s stance hasn’t altered since the
transfer season opened.
Maresca stated unequivocally that the team is at a standstill and that players must be sold before any new players are considered. “We
are not allowed to do anything at this time,” he said reporters on Thursday. Thus, there isn’t a contract with any players.
Blackburn make striker enquiry
Blackburn are reportedly eyeing up a move for Birmingham striker Lukas Jutkiewicz. Rovers are in the market for a striker this month
and the 34-year-old is among the names on the club’s shortlist.
Despite his contract at St Andrews ending in the summer, no decision has been made about extending his stay in the Midlands or a
potential transfer deal this month.
