Michigan hasn’t experienced a high volume of transfers into the transfer portal like many other institutions have.
The Wolverines have managed to keep their squad together going into the College Football Playoffs thus far.
Running back CJ Stokes is the only scholarship player from Michigan listed in the transfer portal thus far. Sam
Staruch, the walk-on, has also accessed the gateway.
However, the Wolverines now have an additional means of accessing the transfer portal.
Run back with abandon. Leon Franklin declared that he would be staying with Michigan for the College Football
Playoffs, but he would be using the transfer portal.
Franklin has played in 29 games for Michigan since joining the Wolverines in 2021. He had eight carries for 33 yards
in 2021. He gained nine yards from four ball carries in 2022. Franklin also had 11 carries for 33 yards and a
touchdown in 2023. In 2022, he also received a receiving score.
The Wolverines have an abundance of running backs, and in the 2024 cycle, Michigan plans to add two more.
Franklin is probably trying to find a new place where he can get more playing time.
Franklin is still eligible for two more years.
