ATHENS, Georgia (AP) — Uga X, the former Georgia mascot whose eight-year tenure included consecutive national titles, passed

away on Tuesday.

Uga X, who debuted on the sidelines of Sanford Stadium in 2015, was 2 years old and a member of the English bulldog mascot line

that dates back to 1955. During a ceremony held during the Bulldogs’ 2023 spring football game, “Que,” the bulldog, officially retired.

Boom, also a puppy English bulldog, Uga XI, assumed command for the 2023 season.

The mascot line has been preserved for nearly 70 years by the Seiler family, who are situated in Savannah, Georgia, and are directed by

Charles Seiler. According to his family, 10-year-old Uga X passed away quietly at home in Savannah.

“Earlier this morning, Uganda X, sometimes referred to as Que, passed away quietly while sleeping.

He was born on May 27, 2013, and on November 21, 2015, at the Georgia-Georgia Southern football game, he was solemnly sworn in.

After becoming the most decorated Bulldog mascot of all time, Que retired at the end of the 2022 season. With a 91-18 football record,

he oversaw two SEC championships, the national championships of the College Football Playoffs in 2021 and 2022, and seven New

Year’s Six bowl appearances.

He’ll always be regarded as one Hell of a Dawg.”
