In a rematch of Super Bowl 54, the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs will play on Sunday in Las Vegas. Nonetheless, the
49ers, who lost to the Chiefs 31–20 in 2020, will be hoping for a different result.
The 49ers, who are favored to win the game against the Chiefs, the defending Super Bowl champions, have been among the NFL’s
most complete teams this season. The game will be broadcast live on CBS from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas beginning at 6:30 p.m.
ET.
Injury report for the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 58
Possible important absentees
Kittle, George
Due to a toe injury, Kittle missed all of practice last week, raising apparent concerns that one of the 49ers’ top playmakers might not
make it to the Super Bowl. Kittle did, however, appear to be a limited participant in Wednesday’s injury report, which is encouraging
and should continue to trend in the right direction.
Furthermore, during their media appearances earlier this week, Kittle and Kyle Shanahan expressed optimism that the All-Pro tight
end will play for the 49ers on Sunday.
Armstead, Arik
Armstead missed practice last week, much like Kittle. Armstead, on the other hand, has been battling numerous injuries to his foot
and knee, unlike Kittle. He showed up for practice on Wednesday, but he was not present for Thursday or Friday. Again, though, the
49ers have cause for optimism as Armstead participated in practice just partially on Wednesday and may be getting more practice
time in the coming days. Should he do so, there’s a greater chance he’ll start for the 49ers.
Burks, Oren
Due to a neck ailment, Burks was only partially involved in practice the week before, missing the 49ers’ two playoff games. The 49ers
have benefited greatly from the experience of the former Packers linebacker, who has been a valuable depth piece despite missing the
last two games. On Wednesday, though, Burks was still identified as a limited participant. It’s a hint that he might be moving in the
right way as well.
